Bear and Julie are participating in "Bark in the Park", a 5k run/2k walk, at Alton Baker Park on May 17. This event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Greenhill Humane Society, and the goal is to raise $50,000 to care for 2,000 animals in 2009.
Since the beginning of the year, Greenhill has seen a dramatic increase in the number of requests for help from our community. Large numbers of animals have been abandoned, and many people are in such dire financial situations they have to give up their cherished pets. Greenhill strives each day to meet the needs of the animals and the community by providing care, comfort and shelter while these pets wait to find their new homes.
Greenhill Humane Society is a private, non-profit animal shelter, relying on charitable donations and fees for services for 100 percent of the operating budget. No government grants or subsidies are received to run the shelter.
Even the smallest contribution helps. (And we will bake you cookies!) We are very grateful for your support.
